Founded in 2002, Specialized Machine, L.L.C. is a family owned machine shop just outside Tea, SD. What started off as a hobby in a garage, making one-off components for custom motorcycles, quickly turned into a business with a standard product line.
Eventually, word got out about our quality, responsiveness and low cost and we picked up more contract machining jobs. We soon dropped our own product line to gain the additional capacity needed for contract jobs. Additional machines have been added over the years, and in 2006, we moved into a new shop. The additional room has allowed further capacity to be added, and a more streamlined flow. The owner has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and has been working in the Tool & Die and Machining industry his entire professional career, holding positions ranging from Quality Engineer to Production Manager to Manufacturing Engineer. Our costs are lower because we manage our overhead, our lead times are accurate because we manage our workload and our quality is superior because we take pride in our work. You’ll find honesty and ethical behavior in everything we do.
